The Story Of Jelly Bean
by: Mistletoe Farms

My name is Jelly Bean and I am the first ever live mini born to Mistletoe Farm. In February of the same
year, just a few months before me, heartbreak struck when what should have been the first mini born on
the farm, was found still born in her stall to mom Mariah. And then came my miracle! Born on Easter
Sunday in 2004 with Church music playing in the background (I was born outside at 9 a.m. and we live next
to the Church) to my Mom, Dell Teras On Line Jana (a.k.a. Flurry) and my Dad, 4 Winds  Hurricane
Harry. Here's pictures of both my mom and dad. My dad is 29 inches tall and my mom is 34 inches tall.
Full grown I am even shorter than both of them measuring in at a whopping 27 inches tall.

and here's a picture of me on the day I was born!

Born just 18 inches tall and totally full of myself. Being born on Easter Sunday, I quickly drew attention
as all the church people stopped in to see the great birth after the services that morning. Quickly word
spread of my birth and people from all over town came to see me and I became quite the talk of the town.
Everyday I would be wheeled out in a wheel barrel (my owners were quite naive and thought it was too
much for me to walk) to the front pasture. Kids from all over knew me and would yell my name and call out
to me as they drove by and often stop in just to see me. I grew to crave and love the constant attention
and look forward every day's new adventures. Here's me in the big pasture for the first time. I barely
come up to the bottom rail and it only took me a few minutes to figure out how to roll underneath and come
up on the other side.

And so that's what I did and did and ...........did. Oh, I've had so many adventures. Here's me with
Jingles the draft horse (he doesn't scare me).

and here's me with my buddy Blitz (alright so he's bigger than me-that doesn't matter to me.)

Always willing to help, I gladly agreed to pose for Christmas Cards and wore a Christmas wreath to show
my spirit of the season. Notice, my best bud in the background-we're tight ya know.

And so I grew up....another whole nine inches. Being the good sport that I am, I entered shows and
won....first place! I've got the cute factor and also came in third place in the Halter division for all sized
horses....Boy were those big horses jealous. I was so proud, I walked out of the ring on my hind legs
(everybody roared). So what could be next for me...well, I thought I'd try pulling a cart. I've seen
Boomerang do it and it looks so easy.

O-kay it's not that easy, but I did it!!! And very well I might add. To be honest though, I would really
prefer to ride in the cart with you than to pull it. I did this last summer and although I enjoyed it, my
owners don't really want me to pull a cart full time as I am so small and of course just precious. So that
takes us to now, here I am in the pasture with Boomerang and Apache and Dixie and the goats Lu Lu and
Oscar. I'm the cute one looking right at ya!

You can see I'm the shortest....and cutest of all, if I do say so myself. I'm full grown, gonna be 3 years
old in April and still just as sweet and wacky as the day I was born. I love to hang out, love to get
involved and will help you work in the yard (I'll pick up your tools for you and carry them away for you). A
quick story about that fact: My owners went on vacation and hired Katie from down the street to watch
me and all of us. When the owners came back, Katie explained how she lost a ring while caring for us all.
My owners looked and looked but couldn't find it. Six months went by and one day my owners were feeding
me and there in my water dish was the ring. I had found it under the shavings in my stall and picked it up
and dropped it in my water dish!!!! Katie was so happy!! It's a true story and a great testament to the kind
of mini I am!!! Although I think I might like to maybe be a herd sire, I know I would really be best as a
mascot or visiting horse where I could use my love of attention to bring happiness to others as I do
naturally. The show circuit is not the life for me unless of course they have a talent section in which case
I'll steal the show. Lastly, here's a picture of me now with a basketball like the one above on the day I
was born.

Sincerely, Jelly Bean
